The Surrey Cricket Foundation is delighted to announce the success of the Croydon Loop Activity Camp, held during the October Half-Term. This initiative, fully funded by the Foundation, was designed to increase accessibility, engagement, and participation in cricket and other sports, particularly for young people from diverse backgrounds and lower socio-economic groups.
The camp, held at The Family Centre in New Addington, offered a range of activities for children aged 8 to 18. These included cricket, football, and other sports, as well as arts and crafts, and social activities. The aim was to provide children with a fun and engaging experience, while also promoting healthy lifestyles and community cohesion.
The Croydon Loop Activity Camp was a collaborative effort between the Surrey Cricket Foundation and several local partners, including:
- Still Shady (MOBO winning artist)
- Family Centre
- PlayPlace
- Croydon Youth Engagement
- Pathfinders
- Good Food Matters
By working together, these organisations were able to deliver a high-quality programme that met the needs of the local community.
The Surrey Cricket Foundation is committed to making cricket a game for everyone. By supporting initiatives like the Croydon Loop Activity Camp, the Foundation is helping to create a more inclusive and diverse cricket community.
We look forward to continuing to work with our partners to inspire the next generation of cricketers and to make a positive impact on the lives of young people in Surrey.
