We are delighted to announce that the Young Leaders in Cricket Programme for 14-16 year olds will be returning for its third consecutive year in Surrey.
This initiative aims to provide young people with training sessions that not only improve their cricket skills but also equip them with valuable knowledge and life skills to be used both on and off the field.
In the past two years, more than 230 young individuals from across the county have participated in the programme. Participants have taken part in various training sessions that focus on key areas such as coaching and communication, people skills, leadership and people management, life skills, teamwork, and environmental awareness. By engaging in these sessions, young leaders gain the necessary skills to make a positive impact at their clubs and in their daily lives.
The success of the programme is evident through the remarkable achievements in fundraising and volunteering. In 2023 alone, over £8000 was raised for fantastic causes, and more than 2000 volunteering hours were registered by young leaders in Surrey. This not only showcases their dedication and commitment but also highlights the positive impact the programme has on the cricket community as a whole.
